The Pharmacy Tech II Per Diem Rotating position involves assisting in preparing, packaging, delivering, and charging of medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The individual will be responsible for filling and labeling medications, stocking medications into pharmacy inventory, restocking automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs), maintaining adequate medication stock levels, and ensuring proper storage of medications. Additionally, the role includes delivering medications to patient care areas, attending to medication requests and phone calls, preparing IV sterile admixture solutions and IV products, assisting in pharmacy quality assurance activities, and complying with state and federal regulatory requirements, Joint Commission standards, and hospital policies and procedures. The Pharmacy Tech II will also assist pharmacists in performing various duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing, packaging, delivering, and charging of medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Fill and label medications accurately.
  • Stock medications into pharmacy inventory and restock automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs).
  • Maintain adequate medication stock levels and ensure proper storage of medications.
  • Deliver medications to patient care areas and attend to medication requests and phone calls.
  • Prepare IV sterile admixture solutions and IV products.
  • Assist in pharmacy quality assurance activities.
  • Comply with state and federal regulatory requirements, Joint Commission standards, and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Assist pharmacists in performing various duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Two (2) years of hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Licensed in the State of Arizona as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Pharmacy Technician certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
  • IV experience preferred.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
