About the position

As a Pharmacy Tech II, you will play a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy team in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. You will be expected to maintain accurate records of medication distribution and assist in the training of new pharmacy staff. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will also be responsible for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals to provide information about medications and answer any questions they may have. Your role is vital in ensuring that patients receive their medications safely and effectively, contributing to their overall health and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications.
• Manage inventory and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain accurate records of medication distribution.
• Provide information to patients and healthcare professionals about medications.
• Assist in the training of new pharmacy staff.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and pharmacy policies.
• Monitor medication expiration dates and assist in recalls.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Pharmacy Technician certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a pharmacy setting.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medication dispensing procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with pharmacy management software.
