As a Pharmacy Tech II Per Diem Rotating, you will provide distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the pharmacist. This role requires the ability to work a rotating schedule that includes both day and evening shifts. You will be responsible for refilling and maintaining automated dispensing systems, preparing orders, and maintaining inventory for the pharmacy department. Additionally, you will repackage bulk medications, receive and store incoming supplies, and respond to pharmacy inquiries. Your role will also involve accurately preparing IV admixtures and other sterile products, replenishing expired medications, billing and crediting medications and IV solutions, and assisting in training new technicians. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.
  • Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the pharmacy department.
  • Repackages bulk medications.
  • Receives and stores incoming supplies.
  • Answers telephone, responds to pharmacy window, makes stat deliveries as needed, and performs monthly inspections as assigned.
  • Accurately prepares IV admixtures and other sterile products (i.e. TPN/Chemo/Ophth) if applicable.
  • Replenishes and replaces expired medications in various carts/code carts/boxes/trays/kits.
  • Bills and credits medications and IV solutions.
  • Assists in training new technicians.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy Technician Licensure by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) examination or another Board approved Pharmacy Technician examination.
  • Must be able to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least six (6) months of recent related experience.
  • Knowledge of hospital pharmacy, computer order entry, IV admixture, and unit dose medications.
