About the position

The Pharmacy Tech II position at CharterCARE Health Partners is designed to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services to patients, nurses, and physicians at Roger Williams Medical Center. The technician will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and dispensing of medications, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate records of pharmaceutical transactions. The position requires a commitment to patient care and safety, adhering to all regulatory and safety standards in the pharmacy environment. In this role, the Pharmacy Tech II will engage with healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the correct medications and dosages. This includes verifying prescriptions, preparing medications for dispensing, and providing information to patients regarding their medications. The technician will also be involved in inventory management, ensuring that the pharmacy is stocked with necessary medications and supplies, and that expired or unused medications are disposed of properly. The position demands a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on patient safety and quality of care. The working conditions for this position involve being in a well-lighted and well-ventilated area, with potential exposure to hazardous waste and chemicals. The technician must comply with annual safety training and health testing requirements, including TB testing. Physical demands include the ability to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds as needed. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must have a current RI Pharmacy Technician License.
  • PTCB National Certification is required.
  • Entry-level position, under 1 year of experience preferred but not required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six months of experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred.
