About the position

The Pharmacy Tech II at Elevance Health is responsible for interpreting and entering moderately complex prescriptions, processing prior authorizations, and resolving adjudication issues. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with pharmacy-based rules and providing education to members regarding their prescriptions and medication resources. The position operates in a hybrid model, requiring candidates to live within 50 miles of a PulsePoint location and work Monday to Friday from 12 PM to 8:30 PM EST.

Responsibilities

• Verify member information and input data for pharmacists.
• Educate members on pharmacy-based rules related to prescriptions and medication resources.
• Process prior authorization requests from physicians' offices and ensure compliance with Medicare requirements.
• Inform relevant parties of all prior authorization determinations.
• Provide resolution to grievances and appeals issues.
• Respond to inquiries from physicians, sales team, and members related to formulary and prescription benefits.
• Generate reports relating to rebates, physician utilization, Beers Criteria, Reliance members, and other ad hoc reports.
• Maintain record keeping of prior authorizations, rebates, and monthly reports.

Requirements

• Active, professional license as required by state law.
• State Pharmacy Technician Certification or National Certification based on applicable state(s) requirements.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience.
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills and analytical skills.
