The Pharmacy Technician II position at University Hospitals is a critical role that supports pharmacists in the retrieval, processing, preparation, and distribution of medications and sterile products for patient administration. This position is essential in ensuring that patients receive their medications accurately and on time. The Pharmacy Technician II will work on a 7 on & 7 off night shift schedule from 8:30 PM to 6:00 AM, providing a unique work-life balance. The role is eligible for a sign-on bonus of $3,000, along with additional compensation based out of the Cleveland Medical Center. In this position, the Pharmacy Technician II will be responsible for the accurate preparation of various patient medications, including sterile products, chemotherapy, unit dose medications, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), and narcotics. The technician will ensure the timely delivery and retrieval of patient-specific medications, which is crucial for patient care. Additionally, the technician will manage inventory by replenishing and maintaining drug stock, including automated dispensing cabinets, to ensure that all necessary medications are available for patient care. The Pharmacy Technician II will also assist pharmacists with medication and patient care-related issues, demonstrating the importance of teamwork in the pharmacy setting. Compliance with all policies and standards is mandatory, and the technician must adhere to the requirements for maintaining Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients. Annual training and adherence to the UH Code of Conduct and policies are essential components of this role.
