About the position

The Pharmacy Technician position at Phoenix Children's Inpatient Pharmacy Team is essential for supporting pediatric patients by ensuring the safe preparation and distribution of medications. This role involves working evening shifts, including weekends and holidays, and offers opportunities for career advancement within the pharmacy department.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the procurement, storage, preparation, distribution, and delivery of medications and pharmaceutical products to patients.
• Perform hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounding.
• Maintain at least two position-specific competencies in accordance with the Pharmacy Department competency requirements.
• Work under the direct supervision of pharmacists and pharmacy supervisors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6 or more months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician I at Phoenix Children's or 2 or more years of hospital pharmacy experience at an outside institution.
• Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the State of Arizona.
• National Certification PTCB, ExCPT or equivalent.
• Current BLS Certification, Medication History Certificate, and/or Technician Product Verification Certificate.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with automated dispensing cabinets or equivalent.
• Certified in Sterile Product & Cytotoxic Compounding or equivalent experience.
• Experience with various types of computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
