About the position

The Pharmacy Tech II position at Saint Alphonsus Health System involves assisting pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to customers. The role includes verifying medication packaging processes, preparing prescriptions, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The technician will also participate in quality assurance activities and may provide functional supervision to other technicians.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in preparing prescriptions, including material resource management, dispensing, clerical, and billing duties.
• Ensure the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to patients.
• Participate in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement activities.
• Maintain competency to work in the IV room, including performing hazardous compounding.
• Provide functional supervision of technicians and assist in training new hires and technician students.
• Mentor technicians in learning new tasks.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician required.
• Licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Tech with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy or Oregon Board of Pharmacy based on state worked.
• National Certification (CPhT, ExCPT or equivalent) required.
