About the position

The Pharmacy Tech II at St. John's Regional Medical Center is responsible for the preparation and distribution of medication orders under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with hospital policies, professional standards, and legal regulations, while contributing to the overall quality of care provided to patients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute medication orders according to hospital policies and state and federal regulations.
• Work under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in medication preparation.
• Maintain accurate records of medication orders and distributions.

Requirements

• Six months of previous hospital pharmacy experience.
• High School graduate.
• Registered State Board of Pharmacy Technician (CT PHRMTEC).
• Competency certification of I.V. admixture preparation and compounding required upon hire or within 30 days.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in filling medication orders.
• Basic knowledge of computers.
