About the position

As a Pharmacy Tech III Certified at AdventHealth's Infusion Center, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service while maintaining respectful relationships with all stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be to assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will be actively involved in the daily operations of the pharmacy department, which includes accurately responding to medication dispensing requests, preparing medications for pharmacist review, and managing the return of unused or expired medications. In this full-time position, you will work Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with no weekend or holiday shifts required. The Infusion Center is part of AdventHealth Celebration Health, a 203-bed hospital designed to provide a state-of-the-art healing environment. You will be part of a community that values the holistic care of each individual, extending the healing ministry of Christ. Your role will also involve maintaining proficiency in pharmacy operations, including sterile compounding and automated dispensing cabinet delivery, while ensuring medication safety practices are followed. You will be expected to mentor new staff, assist with training pharmacy students, and engage in quality improvement initiatives. Your contributions will support the overall mission of AdventHealth to uplift others in body, mind, and spirit, while fostering a collaborative environment with other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists with preparing and dispensing medications.
  • Manage inventory and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Respond accurately to medication dispensing requests.
  • Prepare medications for pharmacist final review.
  • Deliver checked medications and manage returns of unused or expired medications.
  • Perform pharmacy technician functions and maintain proficiency in operational programs.
  • Participate in medication safety practices and report potential medication errors.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff and care providers to optimize patient care.
  • Mentor new staff and assist with training pharmacy students.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and support regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • One year of hospital pharmacy experience (retail or ambulatory experience acceptable for medication history function).
  • PTCB - Certified Pharmacy Technician certification.
  • Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians certification.
  • National Healthcareer Association certification.
  • Sterile Compounding & Aseptic Technique-IV Certification Course.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates degree or technical degree in a related field or specific certification related to the position, preferably in a physical science, business, or healthcare.
