About the position

The Certified Pharmacy Technician III works under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist to provide essential services to Pharmacy customers. This role supports the Pharmacist in delivering Pharmaceutical Care and involves routine interactions with various healthcare professionals, patients, and vendors. The position is integral to ensuring accurate medication management and customer service within the pharmacy setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist in providing Pharmaceutical Care to customers.
• Interact routinely with Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, nursing staff, and other hospital personnel.
• Maintain familiarity with a large number of medications and ensure attention to detail and accuracy.
• Utilize general office equipment and procedures, including computer and keyboard skills.
• Solve simple mathematical and logistical problems in the work environment.
• Budget time effectively and work efficiently and accurately with minimal supervision.
• Complete Orientation Competencies as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• Successful completion of an approved Pharmacy Technician training course preferred.
• Two years or more of pharmacy work experience preferred, with 1 to 2 years of inventory control experience.
• Registration with the Virginia Department of Health Professionals required.
• Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician required within 9 months of hire.
• Customer service orientation and attention to detail are essential.
