About the position

The Pharmacy Tech IV position at Piedmont Healthcare is a full-time role focused on the preparation and admixture of medications to IV solutions. This position is critical in ensuring that patients receive the correct dosages and types of medications, particularly in high-stakes environments such as critical care and operating room settings. The Pharmacy Tech IV will be responsible for preparing unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding various solutions and medications. This role requires adherence to standard written procedures, guidelines, and compliance with state and federal regulations to ensure patient safety and effective medication management. In addition to medication preparation, the Pharmacy Tech IV will maintain adequate stock levels in assigned areas, ensuring that all necessary medications and supplies are readily available for use. The technician will collaborate with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practices, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the pharmacy operations. The role may also involve performing duties typical of a Pharmacy Technician as needed, providing flexibility and support within the pharmacy team. Responsibilities

• Prepare and admixture medications to IV solutions.
• Prepare unit dose syringes and chemotherapy medications.
• Compound solutions and medications used in critical care and OR satellite areas.
• Maintain adequate stock levels in assigned areas.
• Collaborate with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practices.
• Perform duties typical of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures preferred.
• Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
• IV chemotherapy preparation experience preferred.
• PTCB Certification preferred.
