The role may involve stress from multi-tasking and requires the regular moving of supplies and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Additionally, the technician will handle, prepare, and dispose of hazardous medications, which may pose reproductive risks to individuals of childbearing age. While the tasks do not typically involve exposure to blood or body fluids, there may be supplemental tasks that do. For associates under the age of 18, there are specific working hour restrictions that must be adhered to, particularly on school days. The pharmacy technician will also have regular interactions with nursing associates, directors, physicians, patients, and other clinical and ancillary hospital staff, as well as clinic staff and outside vendors.
