About the position

The Pharmacy Tech Manager at Texas Health Fort Worth is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy service. This includes analyzing and interpreting workflow issues, managing staffing, and ensuring the efficiency of pharmacy services. The manager will lead the pharmacy technicians across various areas, including supply chain management, tech check tech, distribution, IV room operations, and waste management. The role requires the development and implementation of policies and procedures that enhance technician workflow and proposes changes that may impact the pharmacy department. The manager will also provide leadership support to the pharmacy director and technicians, fostering the development of pharmacy services and Texas Health Resources (THR) initiatives. In addition to operational responsibilities, the Pharmacy Tech Manager will handle human resources tasks, including the administration of personnel logistics, ensuring thorough training and competency of technical staff, and providing regular performance feedback. The manager will participate in talent selection and disciplinary processes, ensuring compliance with hiring policies and workplace functions. Acting as a role model, the manager will advocate for technicians, promoting professional growth and accountability among staff, students, and colleagues. Quality and safety are paramount in this role, as the manager will participate in developing and implementing departmental policies and procedures, as well as quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Building collaborative relationships with hospital staff and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards are essential components of the position. The manager will also share responsibility for financial management, focusing on decreasing pharmaceutical costs and discovering new efficiencies within the pharmacy department. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least three years of experience as a hospital pharmacy technician and two years of progressive leadership experience preferred. Required certifications include RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician and other IV certification upon hire. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage complex situations are essential for success in this role. The Pharmacy Tech Manager will work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with additional hours as needed based on project and staffing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret daily aspects of pharmacy service for efficiency.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • 3 Years experience as a hospital Pharmacy Technician Required
  • 2 Years progressive leadership experience Preferred
  • RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required
  • Other IV Certification Upon Hire Required
  • Basic keyboarding skills and Microsoft Suite knowledge
  • Ability to multitask and manage complex situations
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team
  • Ability to concentrate in various environments
