About the position

The Pharmacy Technician (Non-Certified) at Food City is responsible for providing efficient and courteous service to customers while assisting in various pharmacy operations. This role involves handling customer inquiries, processing prescriptions, and maintaining the pharmacy department's organization and cleanliness. The technician plays a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction and supporting the pharmacy team in delivering quality service.

Responsibilities

• Provide and promote efficient and courteous service to customers at all times.
• Answer telephone and handle questions that do not require a pharmacist's expertise or judgment.
• Receive written prescriptions or telephone refill requests.
• Gather information needed to prepare prescriptions.
• Record information needed before prescriptions can be dispensed.
• Store written prescriptions forms after prescriptions are dispensed.
• Enter data into computer.
• Stock over the counter products.
• Place completed prescriptions in pick-up area.
• Assist in preparing insurance claims and verify payments.
• Help customers find over-the-counter products.
• Maintain a clean department and work area.
• Assist in maintaining and stocking pharmacy department supplies.
• Operate cash register.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
