About the position

The Pharmacy Technician position at Lee's MarketPlace in North Salt Lake is a part-time role that involves assisting the pharmacist in the daily operations of the pharmacy. The technician is responsible for providing prescription products and ensuring appropriate guest service while adhering to federal and state laws, as well as store policies and procedures. In this position, the technician will be expected to maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and strong relationships within the team. The technician must be knowledgeable about and compliant with all company policies and procedures, referring to the Team Member Handbook as necessary. A key aspect of the role is to promote a harassment-free workplace and report any potential harmful situations to management immediately. The technician will also be responsible for filling prescriptions in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, which includes retrieving products, counting, pouring, or measuring the required quantities, and affixing labels to containers. Communication is vital, as the technician will respond to telephone requests from guests, physicians, and vendors, deferring to the pharmacist when necessary. Additionally, the technician will assist with monthly audits, maintain inventory levels, and ensure compliance with legal regulations regarding controlled substances. Cash register duties are also part of the role, where the technician will process guest purchases accurately, handle various forms of payment, and ensure that the sales area is clean and organized. The technician will participate in training programs and meetings to enhance their skills and knowledge, contributing to the overall success of the pharmacy department.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in pharmacy operations and provide prescription products.
• Develop maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior.
• Promote a high level of morale within the department and store.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and directives.
• Fill prescriptions in compliance with laws and company policies.
• Respond to telephone requests from guests, physicians, and vendors.
• Assist with monthly CII audits and maintain state and federal record keeping for controlled substances.
• Confirm completeness of patient records and retrieve guest pharmacy records for verification.
• Order products from preferred wholesale entities and stock pharmacy product orders.
• Train other pharmacy technicians and maintain inventory levels to company goals.
• Operate the guest sales register and process individual guest purchases accurately.
• Monitor third party profitability and implement proper processing of third party plans.
• Attend company meetings for training and communication of policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Valid Pharmacy Technician License in the State of Utah.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous pharmacy experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 30+ pounds.
• Ability to write, speak, hear, and understand spoken words.
