The Pharmacy Technician at Northside Hospital plays a crucial role in supporting pharmacists by assisting in the filling, compounding, and dispensing of medications. This position requires proficiency in multiple pharmacy functions and involves providing patient care services across various age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. The role is essential in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceuticals to patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacist in filling, compounding, and dispensing physician orders.
• Perform various technical duties involved with the handling, packaging, and delivery of pharmaceuticals.
• Demonstrate proficiency in two or more specific pharmacy function areas such as production/distribution, oncology, inventory management, narcotics, nursery, surgery, compounding, and home care/outpatient.
• Provide patient care services to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Requirements

• Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Georgia.
• Experience as a Pharmacy Technician I for a minimum of one year at Northside Hospital, or as a pharmacy student with an Intern License and a minimum of one year of pharmacy experience, or as a technician from outside the Northside System with one year of pharmacy-related experience.
• Non-certified technicians must complete the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Exam within one year of employment.
