We are currently seeking a per diem Pharmacy Technician who will play a vital role in our pharmacy department. Under the guidance of the Director of Pharmacy and Staff Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for a variety of pharmacy-related functions. This includes filling routine orders for unit doses, prepackaged pharmaceuticals, and intravenous (I.V.) admixtures, all while adhering to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures. The Pharmacy Technician will ensure that all medications are prepared accurately and efficiently, contributing to the overall quality of care provided to our patients. In this role, the Pharmacy Technician will also be expected to maintain a clean and organized work environment, assist in inventory management, and support the pharmacy team in various operational tasks. The position requires a commitment to patient safety and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals. As part of our health care organization, the Pharmacy Technician will be expected to uphold the highest standards of care and professionalism, ensuring that all interactions with patients and colleagues reflect our core values of dignity, compassion, and respect. This position is part-time and involves rotating shifts, providing flexibility while still making a significant impact on patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Fill routine orders for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals.
  • Prepare intravenous (I.V.) admixtures according to established protocols.
  • Assist in inventory management and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Support the pharmacy team with various operational tasks.
  • Adhere to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • MA Pharmacy Technician registration required, certification preferred.
  • Experience with automated dispensing systems (e.g., Pyxis) and MediTech Information System desirable.
  • Prior retail pharmacy experience preferred, with some experience in a hospital setting.
