As a Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in preparing, packaging, delivering, and charging of medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This role is essential in ensuring that medications are accurately filled and delivered to patient care areas, maintaining the integrity of the pharmacy inventory, and complying with all regulatory requirements. You will be part of a dedicated team that strives to provide the best possible care to our patients, ensuring their safety and well-being through effective medication management. In this position, you will engage in various activities including filling and labeling medications, restocking automated dispensing cabinets, and maintaining adequate medication stock levels. You will also be responsible for attending to medication requests and phone calls, assisting in pharmacy quality assurance activities, and complying with state and federal regulatory requirements, as well as hospital policies and procedures. This role is vital in supporting pharmacists in their duties and ensuring the smooth operation of the pharmacy department.

Responsibilities

  • Fill and label medications.
  • Stock medications into pharmacy inventory.
  • Restock automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs).
  • Maintain adequate medication stock levels and proper storage of medications.
  • Deliver medications to patient care areas.
  • Attend to medication requests and phone calls.
  • Assist in Pharmacy quality assurance activities.
  • Comply with state and federal regulatory requirements, Joint Commission standards, and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Assist pharmacists in performing various duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician license or Pharmacy Technician certification, as required by State law.
