About the position

Vibra Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Fresno, CA. This per diem position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $16.50 to $23.76, depending on experience and qualifications. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, performing a variety of technical and clerical duties that are essential to the hospital drug distribution system. Your responsibilities will include filling physician orders by preparing and distributing medications, which may involve intravenous admixtures and extemporaneous drug preparations. You will also be responsible for maintaining the drug inventory and ensuring that confidential patient records are kept up to date and secure. In addition to these core duties, you may have the opportunity to participate in the hospital's Antibiotic Stewardship Program, which emphasizes patient safety and public health. This role is crucial in ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of care and that their medication needs are met efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities

  • Fill physician orders by preparing and distributing medications, including intravenous admixtures and extemporaneous drug preparations.
  • Maintain the drug inventory and ensure accurate records of medications.
  • Maintain confidential patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in the hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Program with a focus on patient safety and public health.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of employment required.
  • Valid driver's license necessary in states with multiple facilities requiring delivery to sites.
  • Six months of experience in a hospital pharmacy preferred.
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
