About the position

The Pharmacy Tech PRN position at HCA Florida JFK Hospital involves dispensing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and updating patient records under the supervision of a pharmacist. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient operation of the pharmacy and the delivery of quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Fill medication orders requested by physician or pharmacist and deliver to patient care and other areas.
• Dispense controlled substances with proper documentation; report any discrepancies or suspected diversions to the pharmacist.
• Ensure adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies and procedures.
• Assist in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and related supplies, rotating stock and replacing outdated drugs.
• Pick up orders, requisitions, and medications for return from patient care areas during delivery rounds.
• Organize and prioritize work assignments; respond timely to urgent and routine requests.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Active Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern, as per State requirements, with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy is required.
• 2 years of related experience is preferred.
