About the position

Vibra Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Vibra Specialty Hospital of Portland, a 65-bed Critical Care Hospital. This facility provides acute care services to patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries, including those with complex medical conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, cardiovascular disease, and more. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our healthcare team by ensuring the safe and effective distribution of medications under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of technical and clerical duties related to the hospital's drug distribution system. Additionally, you may participate in the hospital's Antibiotic Stewardship Program, which focuses on patient safety and public health. Responsibilities

  • Fill physician orders by preparing and distributing medications, including intravenous admixtures and extemporaneous drug preparations.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of employment required.
  • Valid driver's license necessary in states with multiple facilities requiring delivering to sites.
  • Six (6) months experience in a hospital pharmacy preferred.
  • Ability to project a professional image.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
  • Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
