About the position

The Pharmacy Technician position at Price Chopper involves assisting licensed pharmacists in the preparation and data entry of prescriptions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities

  • Provide fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Obtain necessary information for new prescriptions, including insurance details and patient information.
  • Accurately interpret prescriptions and enter data into the dispensing computer system.
  • Reconcile third-party insurance billing issues for proper reimbursement.
  • Retrieve, count, and measure drugs, ensuring proper packaging and safety compliance.
  • Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications.
  • Answer phone calls to obtain prescription refill information and direct inquiries to the pharmacist as needed.
  • Operate the cash register and manage transactions, including cash, checks, and insurance logs.
  • Perform administrative duties within the pharmacy as assigned by management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station according to company standards.
  • Participate in the Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician Program and complete training successfully.
