About the position

The Pharmacy Technician at Saint Alphonsus Health System plays a crucial role in assisting pharmacists with pharmaceutical preparation, distribution, and record-keeping functions. This position is essential for delivering pharmaceutical supplies to patients of all ages, ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures, and contributing to the overall mission of providing exceptional service and high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist in providing effective drug dispensing services to all patients served by the MedNow pharmacy.
• Train Pharmacy Technician Trainees in day-to-day duties as assigned by the Director.
• Demonstrate the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
• Prepare and dispense medications to patients, requiring excellent mathematical skills.
• Communicate effectively with hospital staff, patients, and visitors.

Requirements

• Must be a licensed Pharmacy Technician with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy National Certification (CPhT, ExCPT or equivalent) preferred.
• Under 2 years' experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Excellent mathematical skills for medication preparation and dispensing.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
