About the position

The Pharmacy Technician at Sam's Club plays a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy operations by processing member purchases, maintaining merchandise presentation, and ensuring compliance with company policies. This position involves assisting pharmacists in the prescription fulfillment process, providing excellent customer service, and managing inventory effectively. The technician is responsible for entering prescription data, filling prescriptions accurately, and addressing member inquiries, all while adhering to local, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Process member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware.
  • Maintain merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking and rotating merchandise.
  • Handle claims and returns in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and resolve problems in the prescription fulfillment process.
  • Promote and maintain the Pharmacy's professional reputation by assisting in the prescription fulfillment process.
  • Provide patient/member service in the Pharmacy area by acknowledging member needs and assisting with prescription orders.
  • Enter prescription data into pharmacy software accurately.
  • Fill prescriptions by retrieving orders and measuring medications as needed.
  • Assist members during prescription pick-up by verifying patient information and logging sales.
  • Complete work assignments and priorities by collaborating with managers and co-workers.

Requirements

  • Must meet all state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, including age and certification.
  • Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification within 9 months of job entry.
