About the position

The Pharmacy Technician at Sam's Club is responsible for assisting in the pharmacy operations, including processing member purchases, maintaining merchandise presentation, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations. This part-time role involves supporting the pharmacist in prescription fulfillment, managing third-party insurance claims, and providing excellent customer service to members.

Responsibilities

• Process member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware.
• Maintain merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking and rotating merchandise and supplies.
• Handle claims and returns in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Monitor and resolve problems in the prescription fulfillment process.
• Promote and maintain the Pharmacy's professional reputation by assisting the pharmacist in the prescription fulfillment process.
• Provide patient/member service in the Pharmacy area by acknowledging member needs and assisting with prescription orders.
• Enter prescription data into pharmacy software accurately.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving orders and preparing medications as needed.
• Assist members during prescription pick-up by verifying and entering patient information.
• Complete work assignments and priorities by collaborating with managers and co-workers.

Requirements

• Must meet all state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, including minimum age and certification.
• Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB or NHA within 9 months of job entry.
