About the position

The Pharmacy Technician position at Sam's Club involves processing member purchases, maintaining merchandise presentation, and assisting in the prescription fulfillment process. The technician will also handle third-party insurance claims and maintain accurate records in pharmacy software.

Responsibilities

• Process member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware.
• Maintain merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking and rotating merchandise and supplies.
• Handle claims and returns in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Monitor and resolve problems in the prescription fulfillment process.
• Promote and maintain the Pharmacy's professional reputation by assisting the pharmacist in the prescription fulfillment process.
• Provide patient/member service in the Pharmacy area by acknowledging member needs and assisting with prescription orders.
• Enter prescription data into pharmacy software accurately.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving orders and preparing medications as needed.
• Assist members during prescription pick-up by verifying and entering patient information.
• Complete work assignments and priorities by collaborating with managers and co-workers.

Requirements

• Meets all state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, including minimum age and certification when required.
• Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT) within 9 months of job entry.
