About the position

The Pharmacy Technician position at Sam's Club involves processing member purchases, maintaining merchandise presentation, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy policies and procedures. The role requires assisting pharmacists in the prescription fulfillment process, providing excellent customer service, and managing inventory effectively. The technician will also be responsible for entering prescription data, filling prescriptions accurately, and assisting members during prescription pick-up.

Responsibilities

• Process member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware.
• Maintain merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking and rotating merchandise and supplies.
• Handle claims and returns in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Monitor and resolve problems in the prescription fulfillment process.
• Promote and maintain the Pharmacy's professional reputation by assisting in the prescription fulfillment process.
• Provide patient/member service in the Pharmacy area by acknowledging member needs and assisting with prescription orders.
• Enter prescription data into pharmacy software accurately.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving orders and measuring medications as needed.
• Assist members during prescription pick-up by verifying and entering patient information.
• Complete work assignments and priorities by collaborating with managers and co-workers.

Requirements

• Meets all state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, including minimum age and certification.
• Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT) within 9 months of job entry.
