In this position, the Pharmacy Technician Specialist I will demonstrate advanced knowledge and proficiency in the use of pharmacy equipment, including robotic dispensing equipment and automated dispensing cabinets. Mastery of pharmacy dispensing and standard compounding procedures is required, along with the ability to handle pharmacy prescription adjudication, copay assistance, financial assistance, and inventory management. The technician will also be proficient in operating pharmacy automation technology systems and managing workflow, as well as utilizing electronic health records and communication applications. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, as the technician will interact with patients and customers, and will also be responsible for training and orienting new coworkers. The ability to float to other pharmacy locations and perform troubleshooting for automated pharmacy technology is essential. Working under time constraints and interpreting medical information and lab values are also key components of this position. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent exam.
  • Current State Technician license in good standing.
  • 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience required.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge and use of pharmacy equipment.
  • Mastery of pharmacy dispensing and standard compounding procedures.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy automation technology systems and workflow management.
  • Competence in patient and customer contact points.
  • Ability to interpret standard medical information and lab values.
