About the position

The Pharmacy Technician Trainee is primarily responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction while assisting in the efficient and safe operation of the pharmacy under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This entry-level position involves various tasks related to prescription handling, guest service, and inventory management, with a strong emphasis on training and development.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge, greet, and engage guests entering the pharmacy area.
• Build a reputation for ultimate guest service.
• Handle prescriptions, including counting, labeling, and reconstituting as allowed by state law.
• Manage inventory and medication therapy management.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records.
• Keep guest charge and delivery records.
• Mail out prescriptions as required.
• Handle phone calls to and from provider's offices and guests within the scope of practice.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or actively working towards it for no more than two years.
• Active and in good standing pharmacy technician trainee license issued by the Board of Pharmacy.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays as required.
• Ability to complete on-the-job training and exams related to pharmacy duties.

Nice-to-haves

• Retail pharmacy experience is a plus.
