About the position

The Pharmacy Technician Trainee position is designed for individuals seeking to gain experience in pharmaceutical care under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. The role involves training to perform essential pharmacy services, including medication preparation, labeling, dispensing, and maintaining pharmacy records, all in compliance with Texas State Board of Pharmacy regulations.

Responsibilities

• Receives training to perform limited pharmacy services and duties associated with the stocking, preparation, labeling, dispensing, and delivery of medications.
• Receives training to perform designated tasks including pharmacy quality control, management of pharmacy records, inventory control, and preparation of orders for drugs.
• Cleans and helps maintain equipment and work area; sterilizes glassware according to established procedures.

Requirements

• H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
• Less than 1 Year of Experience
• Pharmacy Tech Trainee (PHT-T) certification/license

Nice-to-haves

• Basic knowledge of general health care modalities, therapies, terminology, and equipment.
• Knowledge of procedures and standards for the labeling and dispensing of prescription medications.
• Basic computer skills, including typing, information security, electronic medical documentation, handheld scanning, and email.
