About the position

The Pharmacy Technician Trainee is primarily responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction while assisting in the efficient and safe operation of the pharmacy under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. This role involves various tasks related to prescription handling and customer service, contributing to the overall reputation of the pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge, greet, and engage guests upon their entry into the pharmacy.
• Build a reputation for ultimate guest service.
• Handle prescriptions, including counting, labeling, and reconstituting as allowed by state law.
• Manage inventory and medication therapy management.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling patient records.
• Mail out prescriptions and maintain guest charge and delivery records.
• Handle phone calls to and from provider's offices and guests within the scope of practice.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or actively working towards achieving one within two years.
• Active and in good standing pharmacy technician trainee license issued by the Board of Pharmacy in the practicing state.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work flexibly during evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
• Retail pharmacy experience is a plus.
• Ability to complete on-the-job training and exams related to guest service, pharmacy technology, prescription input, and inventory control.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the job including bending, squatting, lifting, climbing, standing, and walking for 8-12 hours.
