About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician at Maria Parham Health, you will play a crucial role in providing distributive pharmacy services, assistance, and support to the registered pharmacist. This position is essential in ensuring that the pharmacy operates efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall health and well-being of our patients. You will be responsible for refilling and maintaining automated dispensing systems, filling medication carts daily, preparing orders, and maintaining inventory for the pharmacy department. Additionally, you will repackage bulk medications and perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the pharmacy team. This role requires a commitment to excellence and a passion for patient care, as you will be an integral part of the healthcare delivery network at Maria Parham Health, which is dedicated to making communities healthier and creating a supportive work environment for its employees.

Responsibilities

• Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.
• Fills medication carts on a daily basis.
• Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the pharmacy department.
• Repackages bulk medications.
• Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of a Program in Discipline or education and experience to successfully pass the Pharmacy Tech certification is required.
• Pharmacy Tech Certificate within 12 months of date of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Health Association is required within 30 days of hire.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
