About the position

The Pharmacy Technician at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital plays a crucial role in the accurate and timely dispensing and distribution of medications under the supervision of a pharmacist. This position involves various pharmacy technician duties within the pharmacy department, hospital, and associated clinics, ensuring that patients receive the medications they need efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Dispensing medications accurately and timely under the direction of a pharmacist.
• Performing sterile admixing and repackaging of medications.
• Managing inventory and utilizing Pyxis cabinets for medication distribution.
• Handling clerical duties and ordering supplies as needed.
• Providing support for the 340B program.

Requirements

• Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, demonstrating knowledge of office procedures and customer service.
• Full Michigan pharmacy tech licensure preferred; temporary license will be applied for upon hire if not currently licensed.
• Prior experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
• Ability to accurately perform pharmaceutical calculations.
