About the position

Maria Parham Health is dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare services, and we are currently seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance, and support for the registered pharmacist. You will be responsible for refilling and maintaining automated dispensing systems, filling medication carts on a daily basis, preparing orders, and maintaining inventory for the pharmacy department. Additionally, you will be tasked with repackaging bulk medications and performing other duties as assigned. This position is crucial in ensuring that our pharmacy operates efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall health and safety of our patients. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will report directly to the Director of Pharmacy. Your role will require you to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the correct medications in a timely manner. You will be expected to demonstrate critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Responsibilities

  • Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.
  • Fills medication carts on a daily basis.
  • Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the pharmacy department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Graduate of a Program in Discipline or education and experience to successfully pass the Pharmacy Tech certification is required.
  • Pharmacy Tech Certificate within 12 months of date of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Health Association is required within 30 days of hire.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
