About the position

The PRN Pharmacy Technician at Saint Joseph Health System plays a crucial role in the operation of the Pharmacy Department, focusing on timely medication preparation, labeling, and delivery. This position is dedicated to providing high-quality care and customer service while ensuring the proper storage and distribution of pharmaceuticals. The technician will also handle pharmacy charges and assist with customer inquiries, contributing to a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation of the Pharmacy Department.
• Achieve timely medication preparation, labeling, and delivery.
• Ensure prompt distribution of drugs and other pharmaceuticals to patients or caregivers.
• Review inventory to ensure medications are properly stored, controlled, and rotated.
• Process pharmacy charges, ensuring medications and supplies are properly charged or credited to each patient's account.
• Answer telephones and customer window and route requests accordingly.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Current Indiana licensure as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Tech in Training with licensure within one year.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
• Two years of hospital/institutional pharmacy experience preferred.
