About the position

The Pharmacy Technician at Saint Joseph Health System plays a crucial role in the operation of the Pharmacy Department, focusing on timely medication preparation, labeling, and delivery. This part-time position is dedicated to providing high-quality care and customer service while ensuring the proper distribution of pharmaceuticals to patients and caregivers. The role emphasizes teamwork and adherence to safety and quality standards in medication management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation of the Pharmacy Department to meet customer expectations.
• Achieve timely medication preparation, labeling, and delivery.
• Ensure prompt distribution of drugs and other pharmaceuticals to patients or caregivers.
• Review inventory to ensure medications are properly stored, controlled, and rotated.
• Process pharmacy charges, ensuring medications and supplies are properly charged or credited to each patient's account.
• Answer telephones and customer window and route requests accordingly.

Requirements

• Current Indiana licensure as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Tech in Training with licensure within one year.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Two years of hospital/institutional pharmacy experience preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.

Nice-to-haves
