About the position

The Pharmacy Technician position in Tehachapi, CA, is a full-time contract role that offers a pay range of $20 to $22 per hour. The position is expected to last for a duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension. The technician will work morning shifts from Monday to Friday, totaling approximately 40 hours per week. Candidates must have at least one year of recent experience in a pharmacy setting and hold a valid Pharmacy Technician License in California. In this role, the technician will be responsible for preparing IV infusions in both hazardous and non-hazardous environments. This includes utilizing closed system transfer devices (CSTDs) during hazardous medication preparation, or being willing to learn this process. The technician will also be responsible for the proper disposal of all hazardous waste generated during the compounding process and assisting in the cleaning of controlled environments within the pharmacy area according to daily, weekly, and monthly requirements. The technician must appropriately utilize personal protective equipment and perform all essential duties independently while maintaining a focus on medication safety. This includes documenting any medication errors and adhering to quality control standards in the clean room(s) in accordance with USP regulations. Additionally, the technician will assist with restocking pharmaceutical products in all areas of the hospital, including automated dispensing machines.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 1 year of recent pharmacy technician experience.
  • Valid Pharmacy Technician License in California.
