The Pharmacy Fulfillment Certified Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in our automated Central Fill Pharmacy, working in a fast-paced production environment. This position involves assisting pharmacists in the accurate preparation and distribution of prescription medications, ensuring that all operations adhere to strict standard operating procedures and facility policies. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work collaboratively with co-workers to handle inquiries that do not require a pharmacist's expertise and judgment. You will also assist in developing standard operating procedures and be responsible for preparing and affixing labels to prescription containers. Training new employees and maintaining quality assurance standards are also key responsibilities. A thorough understanding of Hy-Vee's retail pharmacy operations is essential, as you will be expected to report any medication errors to the appropriate personnel and manage pharmacy supplies effectively. In addition to these primary duties, you will maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area, adhere to personal hygiene and dress guidelines, and perform mail order call center duties, including data entry for prescription orders. The role requires manual counting of medication quantities, replenishing medication cells, and ensuring that empty medication cells are replaced promptly. This position is vital in ensuring that our pharmacy operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall mission of Hy-Vee.

Responsibilities

  • Works with co-workers as a team to ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures and facility policies.

  • Reports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hours.
  • Performs mail order call center duties including data entry to prepare prescription orders.
  • Manually counts medication quantities and replenishes medication cells as needed.
  • Replaces empty medication cells and brings full cells to robots.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified as a licensed technician through a certified national program and maintains continuing education requirements to keep license active.
  • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy clerk is preferred.
