About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician at City Market, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and supporting the health and wellness of our community. Your primary responsibility will be to assist customers in a fair and ethical manner, ensuring a safe, clean, and inclusive environment. You will be expected to deliver the right products, services, and care at the right time, all while maintaining fair and accurate pricing. This position requires direct patient intervention, where you will provide health and wellness services that are relevant to the patients, in compliance with state and federal laws. You will also be responsible for maintaining departmental standards, including keeping workstations and customer areas clean and organized, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines. Your ability to understand and perform ordering functions, manage inventory, and assist customers will be key to your success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers and employees.
  • Deliver health and wellness services relevant to patients as allowed by state and federal laws.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal regulations, reporting any illegal activities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and customer waiting areas.
  • Perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers.
  • Manage computerized inventory control and ordering of medications and supplies.
  • Count, measure, and prepare specified products using best practices.
  • Complete billing procedures to ensure best value for customers and the company.
  • Answer phone calls, triaging inquiries as appropriate.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information.
  • Meets minimum state requirements to perform the functions related to the position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous comparable experience in a pharmacy setting.
  • Experience as a pharmacy clerk.
  • Familiarity with EPRN (Electronic Prescription Reporting Network).
