About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician at the Genoa mental health pharmacy, you will play a crucial role in supporting various pharmacy functions, primarily focused on dispensing medical prescriptions and performing essential clerical duties under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. This position is full-time, requiring 40 hours of work per week, with hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and rotating weekends every seventh weekend from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The work location is at 800 Transfer Rd., Suite 1A, Saint Paul, MN, within the Transfer Road Commerce Center. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff. You will fill prescription orders and ensure they are available for verification by the registered pharmacist. Additionally, you will order, receive, and store incoming pharmacy supplies, process wholesaler medication orders, verify medication stock, and maintain inventory records through data entry. Working closely with the pharmacist, you will assist in maintaining compliance with all federal and state requirements while performing various clerical duties related to the pharmacy department. Strong professional verbal and written communication skills are essential for this position, as you will be interacting with both staff and consumers regularly. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff
  • Fill prescription orders and make them available for verification under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist
  • Order, receive, and store incoming pharmacy supplies
  • Receive and process wholesaler medication orders
  • Verify medication stock and enter data in computer to maintain inventory records
  • Work with the Pharmacist to assist in pharmacy functions and ensure compliance with all federal and state requirements
  • Perform various clerical duties relating to the department
  • Communicate effectively using strong professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Minnesota

Nice-to-haves

  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification
  • Pharmacy and prescription data entry experience
