About the position

Genoa Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team, where you will play a crucial role in supporting the functions of our mental health and specialty pharmacy. This position is not just about dispensing medications; it is about being part of a collaborative effort to serve the behavioral health and addiction treatment communities. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, ensuring that patients with serious mental or chronic illnesses receive the right medications and follow their treatment plans effectively. In this role, you will be responsible for filling prescription orders and making them available for verification. You will also order, receive, and store incoming pharmacy supplies, process wholesaler medication orders, and maintain inventory records by verifying medication stock and entering data into the computer system. Your strong professional verbal and written communication skills will be essential as you assist the pharmacist in keeping the pharmacy compliant with all federal and state requirements. Additionally, you will perform various clerical duties related to the department and take on other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities

  • Fills prescription orders and makes them available for verification under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist.
  • Orders, receives, and stores incoming pharmacy supplies.
  • Receives and processes wholesaler medication orders.
  • Verifies medication stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records.
  • Works with the Pharmacist to assist in the pharmacy functions and keeping the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements.
  • Performs various clerical duties relating to the department.
  • Communicates with strong professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Minnesota.
  • 6+ months Pharmacy Technician experience.
  • Access to reliable transportation.

Nice-to-haves

  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
  • Bilingual preferred (any language).
