In this role, the pharmacy technician will be responsible for filling and delivering medications while ensuring that adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care. They will also triage and escalate any questions or issues that fall outside their scope of practice to the staff pharmacist or supervisor as needed. The technician will utilize appropriate systems for processing patient information and will ensure that quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements. Operating pharmacy equipment appropriately is also a key responsibility, and the technician may be assigned additional duties as necessary. The compensation for this position ranges from $20.68 to $32.05 per hour, reflecting the technician's experience and qualifications.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months relevant experience required
  • Commonwealth of Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration required
  • CPhT credential through National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required
  • For team members hired prior to February 1, 2020, certification as CPhT through NHA or PTCB is required by January 31, 2022.
