About the position

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our busy Independent Retail Pharmacy team in Los Angeles. The role involves assisting pharmacists with dispensing medications and providing excellent patient care. A key requirement for this position is expert knowledge of DigitalRx pharmacy management software. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and must possess a valid California Pharmacy Technician License.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
• Measure dosage of medications according to prescription orders.
• Process prescriptions using computer software.
• Label and record dosage information.
• Monitor and maintain storage and inventory of medications and supplies.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering questions and addressing concerns.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including aseptic technique, when handling medications.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

• Valid California Pharmacy Technician License in good standing.
• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 2 years previous experience working within Private/Independent Retail Pharmacy settings.
• Expert knowledge of DigitalRx pharmacy management software is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy practices.
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of Federal, State, HIPAA, Medicare, Medi-Cal, Worker's Compensation, OSHA, etc.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and telephone communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation.
• Strong organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not required.
