About the position

The Pharmacy Technician I position in Houston, TX, involves performing laboratory and pharmacy-related duties under the supervision of an authorized Nuclear Pharmacist. The role requires working in a clean room environment with potential exposure to radiation, ensuring compliance with various regulations, and providing quality customer service related to radiopharmaceuticals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties associated with compounding, dispensing, and distribution of FDG and NaF, including data entry for end-of-day reports and daily dose management reports.
  • Ensure compliance with USP regulations and state pharmacy requirements at the site level; maintain personal license in good standing.
  • Complete cGMP documents as required within SOFIE's Quality Management System.
  • Ensure aseptic operations follow internal procedures, customer requirements, and FDA regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Perform radiation safety duties according to SOFIE's Corporate Radiation Compliance Program and site licensing requirements.
  • Provide quality customer service associated with radiopharmaceuticals to physicians, healthcare workers, and customers.
  • Take orders from customers as applicable by state regulations and follow up with customer inquiries.
  • Document pharmacy/customer complaints and notify the pharmacist immediately.
  • Perform inventory management, including maintaining production/QC/cleaning supply levels and inventory reporting.
  • Perform material acceptance according to SOPs and clean classified and non-classified areas according to SOPs.
  • Perform environmental monitoring of classified areas according to SOPs.
  • Responsible for opening change controls and maintaining SOFIE network and site-specific procedures relative to job functions.
  • Complete cGMP documents as required and assist site and corporate Quality Assurance as needed.
  • Attend internal meetings as required and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; associates degree in chemistry, engineering, or natural sciences preferred.
  • Pharmacy Technician Licensure or Certification as required by state law.
  • Experience with sterile compounding and aseptic operations preferred.
  • Efficient in the use of MS Office Suite required.
  • Ability to work various shifts and weekends required.
  • Detail-oriented, accountable, patient, and organized, with the ability to work in a team environment required.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with colleagues and customers, with excellent attention to detail, and be dependable in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs required.
