The Pharmacy Technician II at Sunrise Hospital plays a crucial role in the medication preparation and distribution process, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality pharmaceutical care. This position involves participating in the daily operations of Pharmacy Services and assisting in the provision of pharmaceutical services under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. The incumbent is expected to perform all technical aspects of medication preparation, which includes compounding intravenous medications for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients using sterile techniques, as well as preparing pediatric and adult chemotherapy using negative pressure techniques. Additionally, the Pharmacy Technician II will compound parenteral nutrition for patients across all age groups and perform unit-based rounds and medication distribution. This role is essential in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of the pharmacy department, contributing to the overall success of patient care at Sunrise Hospital. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong foundation in pharmacy practices, with a high school diploma or GED as a minimum requirement. While graduation from a pharmacy technician training program is preferred, prior pharmacy technician experience or training of at least one year is required. Candidates with prior hospital pharmacy technician experience will be given preference. A current Nevada license to practice as a pharmacy technician or eligibility is necessary, along with PTCB / CPhT certification.
