About the position

The Inventory Specialist at Albertsons Companies is responsible for managing the procurement and inventory control processes for pharmaceuticals and production supplies at the Central Fulfillment Center. This role involves overseeing relationships with wholesalers and vendors, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and leading a team to maintain accurate inventory counts and implement cost-saving initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage pharmaceutical inventory stocks under the direction of the site General Manager and Group Supervisor.
  • Place inventory orders with pharmaceutical wholesalers and 3rd Party suppliers, and follow up on shipments and deliveries.
  • Receive, reconcile, and document all shipments, communicating with vendors as needed.
  • Analyze inventory and collaborate with demand planning and forecasting.
  • Assist with managing reorder points and pharmacy asset protection techniques.
  • Oversee reverse distribution, expired product handling, recalls, and returns.
  • Monitor and manage aging products, including compliance with DSCSA.
  • Manage out of stock issues to minimize production delays and costs.
  • Ensure cleanliness and order in storage areas, preparing stock for the next day.
  • Develop and implement processes for improving efficiency and compliance in inventory management.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and assist in periodic audits.
  • Guide and coach inventory team personnel in their development.
  • Provide inventory data to assist in workflow efficiency and maintain reporting documentation.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy Technician License in Texas.
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of patient information.
  • 3 years of pharmacy technician experience in a high-volume retail setting.
  • Lead technician experience preferred.
  • 1+ year of inventory management experience.
  • Good computer skills and math skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
  • Central Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician experience.
  • Previous supply chain or inventory control experience.
