About the position

The Pharmacy Technician (Medicaid/Marketplace) role at Molina Healthcare is a remote position focused on reviewing prior authorization requests for medications. The technician will assist in determining medical necessity and support pharmacy claims processing. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to navigate multiple computer systems effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Review prior authorization requests for medications against plan approved criteria.
  • Request additional information from providers to evaluate prior authorization requests.
  • Enter online approvals or denials of requests accurately.
  • Participate in the development and administration of programs to enhance drug utilization and identify cost-saving practices.
  • Identify and report operational issues and resource needs to management.
  • Assist Molina Member Services, pharmacies, and health plan providers in resolving prescription claim and pharmacy service access issues.
  • Articulate Pharmacy Management policies and procedures to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician Certification.
  • 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate degree in a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Prior Authorization experience.
  • Managed care experience.
