In this role, you will assist pharmacists under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while performing various pharmacy duties. Your responsibilities will include using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and coaching other pharmacy technicians if you are PTCB certified. You will also engage with customers, providing assistance and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience. The position requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service and operational excellence, as you will be responsible for entering patient information, filling prescriptions accurately, and adhering to company policies regarding Good Faith Dispensing. Additionally, you will participate in training and personal development opportunities, including earning and maintaining PTCB certification and acquiring continuing education credits. Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist in inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
• Assist pharmacists in administering clinical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients.
• Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy department and ensure it is stocked with adequate supplies.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Basic computer skills to operate pharmacy systems and cash registers.
• Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.

Nice-to-haves

• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
