In this role, you will assist pharmacists under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while performing various pharmacy duties. Your responsibilities will include using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and coaching other pharmacy technicians. You will also engage with customers, providing assistance and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience. The position requires a commitment to customer service excellence, as you will model best practices and develop strong relationships with valued customers. Additionally, you will be involved in operational tasks such as entering patient information, filling prescriptions, and managing inventory. You will report any prescription errors to the pharmacist and adhere to company policies regarding dispensing activities. The role also includes clerical duties, such as processing claims for third-party prescription services and maintaining the pharmacy's cleanliness and organization. As part of your professional development, you will be expected to earn and maintain PTCB certification and participate in ongoing training to stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy advancements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
• Develop strong relationships with customers to enhance their experience.
• Perform duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
• Register all related sales on the assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering and unpacking pharmaceuticals.
• Assist pharmacists in administering clinical services as required.
• Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy environment.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy under supervision.
• Basic computer skills to operate pharmacy systems effectively.
• Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.

Nice-to-haves

• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
